What does a New Zealand visa cost?

Immigration New Zealand publishes a “from” fee on each visa page: currently NZD $17 for the New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) up to NZD $6,450 for the Work to Residence Visa. Pick the visas in your application and how many people are paying, and this adds them up.

What this total leaves out

How this tool works

Each visa’s fee is the Cost — Fromfigure on that visa’s own page at immigration.govt.nz, read on 2026-09-15. The calculator multiplies that figure by the number of people you enter, and sums the lines. There is no other arithmetic and no estimate of anything.

“From” matters. INZ charges more than the from-figure in some circumstances — for example depending on where you apply from or what is included — and some people pay nothing at all. The total here is a floor, not a quote.

How much is a New Zealand visa?

It depends entirely on the visa. Immigration New Zealand's published "from" fees currently run from NZD $17 for the New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) to NZD $6,450 for the Work to Residence Visa. Every figure on this page came from that visa's own INZ page on 2026-09-15.

Does each family member pay the fee?

Some visas let a partner and dependent children be included in one application, and others do not. That is why this tool asks you how many people are paying rather than deciding for you. Check the visa's INZ page for what a single application covers.

Are these fees up to date?

Is the visa fee refunded if the application is declined?
