What to do next
Appearing on the list is not the whole test. Each role also has its own qualification, registration or experience requirement, and each sits on Tier 1 or Tier 2, which decides whether the pathway is residence now or residence after two years of work here.

The search runs over the 215 role names Immigration New Zealand publishes in the filter on its own Green List page, copied verbatim on 2026-09-15. It is a plain substring match: type “nurse” and you get every role name containing “nurse”.
What it deliberately does not do
It does not tell you whether a role is Tier 1 or Tier 2, and it does not tell you whether you qualify. Two reasons.
- INZ does not publish the tier or the qualification, registration and experience requirements in a machine-readable form on that page, so any tier we showed would be our guess rather than their published rule.
- Telling somebody that their situation fits a residence pathway is immigration advice under the Immigration Advisers Licensing Act 2007, and we are not licensed to give it.
So the tool does the honest half: it tells you whether the words are on the list, and hands you straight to the page that has the rest. Straight to Residence is the Tier 1 visa and Work to Residence is the Tier 2 one.

What is the New Zealand Green List?
It is the list of roles Immigration New Zealand says the country needs workers for. INZ splits it into Tier 1, which supports the Straight to Residence Visa, and Tier 2, which supports the Work to Residence Visa after 24 months of work here. There are 215 role names on the list as published on 2026-09-15.
Is my job on the Green List?
Search your job title above. A match means a role name containing those words is on INZ's published list — it does not mean your particular job counts, because INZ matches against its own role definitions and each role carries its own qualification or registration requirement.
Why doesn't this tool show Tier 1 or Tier 2?
Because Immigration New Zealand does not publish the tier in a form we can copy from the Green List page without interpreting it, and we will not publish an interpretation as though it were the rule. Open the INZ page and filter for your role: the tier and the requirements are shown there.
My job isn't on the list. Is that the end of it?
No, and this is worth saying plainly: the Green List is one pathway among several. The Skilled Migrant Category, the Accredited Employer Work Visa and partner and family visas do not depend on it at all. What any of that means for you is a question for a licensed immigration adviser or a New Zealand lawyer.
